Bubbling brilliantly from below,
I start my life as a spring,
Like a rabbit I was, timid little thing.
Gushing gracefully from the ground,
I race over reluctant rocks,
I see ducks grazing in flocks.
I gather spectacles of solemn sediment that stay in my grasp,
And as I meander through my middle stage,
My water stops to rampage.
I erode more and more,
My water floods fields,
And destroys years’ yields.
As I near my end,
I start to idle and slow down,
I drop my precious sediment and flow out of town.
