There was a deafening silence after the war of thunder and lightning. The orange sky became darker and darker as minutes passed.
Despite the hazards of thunder and lightning, Melton was still swimming. He was trying out his new gadget – a t-shirt, a pair of track pants, and a helmet. These items of clothing were very special. They could be worn as day clothes or pyjamas. In fact, they could be worn all day, every day. The clothes could clean themselves and were fire-proof and could repel electricity.
As Melton swam, a bolt of lightning had zapped him. He barely felt anything, only a light tap on the shoulder.

Dear Arnav, getting 3 of your 5 prompt words into your writing within the first two sentences gave you a little more scope for the rest of the paragraph – very artfully done. I also like the link to the swimming paragraph, it is well done. However, one thing I would say is that when you mentioned a ‘gadget’ I was expecting something singular, but proceeded to read about a list of three things. It is things like this that can make or break a piece of writing – you need to get this kind of detail correct to make sure that everything hangs together and makes sense to keep the reader believing in your writing. Re-reading your composition after you have finished would help you to see these aspects and hopefully allow you to re-edit them. You have had another enjoyable idea though, which was good to read. Well done. 🙂
