InkHeart

Title: InkHeart

Author: Cornelia Funke

My thoughts:

Inkheart is an engaging book about two people, Meggie and her father, Mo, who can read fictional characters and material objects out of books. Meggie’s mother disappeared into a book called Inkheart when Mo was reading to her. She was trapped into the story and three people came out: Basta, Capricorn and Dustfinger. Basta and Capricorn are villains in the book, with ink black hearts, and Dustfinger is a side character.

Basta and Capricorn love this new world, but Dustfinger wants to go back to his inky black home. This world is too fast for him. Basta and Capricorn employ a reader, named Darius. He had to read out all Capricorn’s maid servants and guards from Inkheart. By that time, Capricorn has already built a village for him and his men. Now, they want to burn all copies of Inkheart so there is no trace of their original world. But, Mo has the last copy of the book …

This is an amazing book and is very interesting. It has a creative plot developed in imaginative detail. The way Cornelia Funke has built the suspense is fascinating.

Overall, I would give this book a 5 star rating because there were no boring bits, each and every bit was interesting.

The Lion and The Mouse

Retelling an old classic…

One sunny day I was walking when I accidently ran over a lion. The lion caught me. I squeaked “Pleas dont eat me!” “I can help you.” The Lion laughed and exclamd “How can you help me”! He was not hungry so he let me go.

2 days later I herd a roar. I folowed the sound and I saw the lion caught in a net. I scremd “I can help you.” I started biting the rope. Atlast the lion was free. The lion walked away. I felt happy because I saved the lion.
